Marginals/Shallow Water Plants
Lemon Bacopa - Grows 2" to 6". Flowers June, July, August and September. Green foliage with blue blossoms. Has a strong lemon scented foliage.
Canna 'Endeavour', L.G. - Grows 4' to 5'. Flowers June, July, August. Long running bloomer, with intense red blooms.
Cana 'Ra', L.G. - Grows 4' to 5'. Flowers June, July, August. Long running bloomer, with bright yellow blooms.
Umbrella Palm - Grows to 5'. One of the most notorious aquatic plants. Easy to keep.
Star Grass - Grows 1' to 2'. Flowers June, July, August, September. Very unique white, star shaped flowers.
Egyptian Papyrus - Grows to 8'. Quite a show with this plant. Unique flowering at the end of long stems that cause the stems to sway and weep
Iris 'Rose Queen' - Grows to 2'. Just one of the dozens aquatic Iris's available to the trade. Lavendar-pink flowers. Iris is a great filtering aquatic plant that no water garden should be without.
Corkscrew Rush - Grows to 1'. This is another conversation starter. Often, this plants foliage is seen, dried out, in decorative floral arrangements. Dark green, with a mound of corkscrew like foliage.
Cardinal Flower - Grows to 2'. Flowers August, September, October. Intense red flowers protrude out of the foliage for quite a fall show.
Variegated Water Celery - Grows to 1' to 2'. Flowers July and August. This edible plant produces intense pink, green and white foliage in the fall.
Pickerel Rush - Grows 1' to 3'. This plant is a common staple among water gardens. Produces either a tall blue/purple flower or white flower, depending on the variety. Easy to grow with nice broad foliage.
Micro-Miniature Cattail - Grows 1' to 2'. Unlike its larger version, the graceful cattail, it stays compact and produces 1" cattails atop the stems.
Thalia Dealbata - Grows to 6'. Flowers July, August and September. The flowers produced are dark purple that sway gently in the breeze.
Variegated Sweet Flag - Grows 2' to 3'. Crisp green and cream striped foliage. Leaves are sweet scented when broken.
Yellow Flag Iris - Grows 3'-4'. Just one of many aquatic Iris's available to the trade. Canary yellow flowering puts on quite a show. Iris is a great filtering aquatic plant that no water garden should be without.
